Health Insurance can be a touchy subject. In my limited experience, I have learned quite a bit and am hoping to put at least a little of it in print so that others may not have to rough it quite as much.

Big tip: If you have children, insurance that doesn't cover prescription liquids and inhalants isn't much help when baby is ill.

Below are a few links I've run across. I haven't had a chance to clean all this up yet, but I plan to.

· Antibiotics · For baby's ear infection, our doctors often prescribe Omnicef (Generic: cefdinir) ($100) but because of our insurance not wanting to pay for liquids, we request the doctor substitute azithromycin (Brand name: Zithromax, Zmax) ($30) whenever possible to save money. Most of the time, this is fine and the doctor doesn't mind. After a day, baby is better and we're all happy :)
