FireFox

Firefox is a great browser. I recommend it to all my friends and customers. (sometimes I recommend it repeatedly when they don't listen) Surfing the web shouldn't be risky business, but with all the deceitful practices online, it pays to be safe.

Simply playing the numbers proves that over 90 percent of web traffic is related to Internet Explorer. Targeting only this one group would contribute to a substantial return. Simply not being in this group would help significantly. In addition, Firefox actually provides security and doesn't automatically install everything mischievous websites might ask it to. There are even little security enhancements that you may easily install to block even more potentially bad items.

NoScript blocks Java and Javascript from unsafe websites
Tiny Menu combines File Tools and all that junk into one tiny little item
PopupMaster relocates control of site specific pop-ups in a convenient little icon
IE View Lite allows for quick access to sites slaved to Micro$oft's Internet Explorer (with options to remember IE specific sites)
Tab Mix Plus (developer copy.. right click the link and save .. then drag and drop on add-ons window to install) oh my goodness ! this is the most incredible addon ever for a browser! many mucho oh so many options for controlling tabs and new windows.. you have to see it to believe it Tab Mix Plus (buggy download as of Sept '07) - Discussion forum
Locate in Bookmark Folders nice if you have many folders of bookmarks like I do
Fasterfox supposed to make things faster.. plus it has a timer .. couldn't hurt
Flashblock nice for blocking flash easily. Allows for easy access to blocked content.
Fetch Text URL Open plain text URLs from the context menu.

browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo	25 or 50	Increase the number of "remembered" tabs that have previously been closed (so you can go back and open them if needed)
browser.sessionhistory.max_viewers	1	Lower the amount of saved "back" pages to save memory

Copy as HTML Link is very convenient for blogging
HideTabBar comes in handy while doing research involving many tabs on many rows
Bookmark Tags is an interesting way to get new bookmarks organized by catagory
NumberFox is nice for people who like to keep both hands on the keyboard while browsing
SyncMarks 0.3 is not compatible with 1.5.02, but this patch seems to do the trick
^Update Firefox 2.0+ keeps several backup copies of bookmarks. If you are backing up your data, include this path to protect your bookmarks. Here are two examples of where the files are located :
..\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.3xo\bookmarkbackups
..\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4wcng4qg.default\bookmarkbackups
Content Area Focus hasn't really done much for me since upgrading to version 2+
Ez Sidebar might be buggy. I notice my browser going totally berserk while using an "undocked" setting
